Disability – Those who are legally considered disabled can apply with the government get what is called Disability. This is like a social security payment each month, but for those who are disable. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – To get help paying for food, apply for the federally funded program called SNAP. This program used to be called food stamps and is still largely known by that name. Those who are approved will get help paying for their groceries each month. There is no limit to how long you can receive help through SNAP. The amount that you receive if you are approved determined by how many dependents you have in the home.
